a blessed week!
my aunt's scheduled to see her doctor last monday & she brought me with her for an interview to be dr. yamane's nurse in his clinic. instantly i was hired & worked for him the following day! i was really happy at first but it really made me nervous & anxious because i really didnt know what to expect. i didnt even had a goodnite sleep last monday night! haha..

but it was really more than i expected. all of my co-workers are sooper friendly & really hardworking..(& all are japanese..) even most of our patients are japanese. its kinda hard to memorize names & pronounce but im getting the hang of it..
the clinic starts from 8am-5pm..we take in mostly around 35+ patients in the morning & around 25 more patients in the afternoon. (thats A-LOT!) there is 5 small rooms inside for the patient & there are only 3 nurses to accomodate all of them; me, carolyn & sachiko. we get the patient's vital signs & after the doctor sees them, we check for orders like blood tests, EKG, pap-smear & urinalysis & do the procedure.
YES. i learned how to take blood tests! (my first blood tests were my co-workers' including dr. yamane's arm!) it was fun! & kinda tough at my first patients but it was fun poking people! HAHAHA..sometimes i miss, (which really make me feel bad cuz it hurts the patients..) well..i need practice mahn, thats why i need more dummies to poke! heehee..=p & after the blood test, we spin the test tubes & put in in the fridge.
i also learned how to do EKG on patients, to assist on a pap-smear test on women & how to autoclave the equipments to make it sterile. if everything's done, we file patient's folder & wait for their tests results. well, thats what we do. & when we have tons of patients, we remain standing up & walk basically the whole day! (whew. whata workout!)
anyway, (enough about work..) yesterday (07-27) i had my 2nd driving test. I PASSED atlast! yey! i was really anxious & i really felt like i was gonna faint on my test. (plus the heat is killing me..) but thank god i passed!
waaw. it was really a blessed week! my favorite week ever! thank you god! kinda exhausted, pero it was worth it! atleast im learning & im busy! =)
